Innovation begins...

Chk it out small beginning of my innovation ;-)

Thursday, May 26, 2005

It was a different day…

…innovation day.

I had a great day but it was long back, i.e. on Tuesday.
It was innovation day under the research & innovation day of the company organized at Leela Palace on Tuesday. The series of lectures, sessions & quiz on cutting edge technology. The sessions were really brainstorming.

I’m so thrilled, I wish, I cud write abt some of that cool stuff if there would have been no rules or fundas about confidentiality, patents & IP rights…… :-(
*Mez loyal* ;-)
Missed prizes in the quiz as quiz master could not see my hand due to the awkward presence of cameraman recording the event in my way :-(

Anyway, I have pretty much stuff to write abt in my blog, my experiences, and its whole-sole IP is in my hands:-D

Keeping pretty busy this week, overloaded with work, but I guess needed this half an hour break to pen it down.
I’m charged up, wish to try some of my experimentation & innovation ideas to my blog also as soon as I get time. ;-)

Wait & Watch!

Dil Chahta Hai...

....a movie to remember.
No, No…wait, it is not about the film.

This was yet another weekend at iiit-b, all my friends (which includes Kamyaa, Abi & Vikki) from Chennai had planned to go home.
I was happy as the weekend started on a mixed note, lots of happiness around with Kamyaa, Abi & Padma getting their job offer letters.

When I reached to hostel, I was talking to Kamyaa in excitement, it was after five mins she said to me, ‘Sonal u still have not shaken hands & congratulated me formally.’ I smiled at my forgetfulness out of excitement, shook hands & patted on her head. Was not able to meet Abi as she had executed her weekend plan well and left for home early. The offers had brought sad scenes for some also but I won’t write them here, I am optimistic & will wait for those to turn into a happy saga.

The weekend started with me reading Malgudi Days till 4am in the morning. But our Dil Chahta Hai story begins from Saturday morning…oops…afternoon…I got up at 10:45am when Neha came & knocked. :-D

So, here we are now on the sets of Dil Chahta Hai.
Starring: Radhika, Neha & Me.
Although Neha hangs around with me & Kamyaa usually, Radhika was there with us over the weekend (What to do? She is with Abi, as I m with Kamyaa over the week and Abi also had gone home)
It was the first time I didn’t touched internet on Sunday when I m at hostel. We were together over the weekend & don’t know how time passed. Thanks to both of them for it. We sat in Neha’s room listening to Radio City & Radhika told her how it has become part of our life during our to and fro journey to our company in the shuttle.
But as every movie has some tragedies also, there was one in ours also. We had parted for the night & then Neha came to my room with radio in her hand. She said its wire got stuck in some cloth and it fell down after that it’s not working. :-( I hope she gets it back in working condition.

Overall, it was a great weekend at hostel with fun, laughter, jokes, discussions & leg-pulling.
Dil Chahta Hai, all weekends are happy like this. :-)
Tomorrow, everyone will return & we will be back to weekday chores.

Whatz ur email signature?

I have no problem with people putting wacky stuff in signatures for their personal accounts, but I can't get over the number of people who put all sorts of funny things in their signatures. Some of the signatures I copied from some of my fwds, posted along with my wonderful comments in bold & italics: ;-)

Uh-oh, I think I'm gonna be sick...

E ya later!

Some people shouldn't be allowed to use email.

Our first love and our last love is
............self love

Wow, did you come up with that all by yourself?

Believe it, its someone’s signature. I think the length of a .sig is usually in inverse proportion to the intelligence of its sender.

Anything is possible except for skiing through a revolving door. It's kinda fun to do the impossible.

No, many things are impossible, such as getting people to stop using stupid sigs like this one.

The message above is just this .sig's way of propagating itself.

You gotta love self-referencial sigs.

"I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace, that two are called a law firm, and that three or more become a Congress."

"I have come to the conclusion that I hate stupid email signatures."

To get random signatures put text files into a folder called "Random Signatures" into your Preferences folder.

Total wackiness! An email signature about email signatures! Wild!

Feel free to add any….

I m in the rain....

...but i m not wet.
It’s evening & its drizzling outside. The best thing about the hostels at iiit-b is that its well placed in tranquil and natural habitat. I went and stood in the balcony like my usual habit on a rainy evening. Everything started rolling back from childhood.

The time when we made those paper boats and then the competition with the sibs whose boat goes the farthest. That running around all over; up and down to witness the first rain; to feel the sweet smell of the soil getting damped by the rain droplets & arousing the senses. To go out & feel the rain showers falling on us, that generates a sense of pleasure & delight to enthrall.

Sitting in the porch, sipping a cup of tea and joining papa to express the desire to mom how nice this evening would be if we have some ‘pakoras’ with the tea. Mom as nice as always used go to the kitchen, to fulfill our little demands. We used to run behind her to see what she is planning to make & to help if she requires so that she can also come out quickly & enjoy the weather with us.

The praying early in the morning rains, that it shud rain so hard that it’s declared rainy day in school, which to my hard luck happened only once in school. :-(
It all appears like a dream today.

With Raincoat’s song “Shaam dhale sakhiyan sab laut gayin saari.….akele hum nadiya kinare” at the back, the view in from the window is nice but somewhere the emotions have crept deep inside. I am missing everything. The list that defines everything is long.

The raindrops are falling on the ground and getting mixed with the running water. I don’t know how to describe this probably it shows that how the unique identity of a person who's similar to a raindrop mixes with the society and gets mingled in it; society which is exactly like the free flowing water.

Current Song : “Hai kitne Baras beete sajna, tum ghar nahi aaye re….”
Album: Raincoat (more on it in some other post)

I feel like song is telling me that u haven’t been home for long.

I wish I was near...

...I wish I was there.

I tried to search u,Oh, u were not found.
I thot to hug you,but u were not around.

I wish i cud hear ur sweet voice,
But there was only silence, no noise.
I hope i was near you but had no choice.

In the ups & downs of my life,
u r with me I know then why shud I sigh.
I know u r with me, wherever am I.

U r my support, my strength & my guide,
I m ur image, i m ur part.
So even if we are spaces apart, MOM u r always close to my heart.

I know 'Ma' u r just a phone call away, just can't stop missing u on mother's day !

I hold the brush in my hand.....

....and the world is my canvas.

Have u ever thought if u got the choice to paint the whole world in just one color, what color it would be?

Today, while traveling thru my shuttle, I was just peeking out from the window wen this thot striked my mind.
I was thinking, if God gives me a brush in hand & asks me ‘Just move the brush in air & the world will be painted in that color’.

Shud I color it with Red? Nah…It will look so horrible…like blood spilled in a horror movie… No, No, Not at all.
Then thot came, Shud I paint it blue? Yeah…blue sound better…I will select the oceanic blue, with the tinge of cyan in it.
But first thot was let’s paint it white, like everything covered in snow…was like a dream scenery…

Green & all colors were coming to mind, by that time a song came from movie Khoobsoorat (old one), on the radio city.
Song was also based on imagination, something like….
“Sochho kya hota agar, Ped pe ugte Ladoo-barfi, Khet mein ugti toffee……” (Think what will happen, if sweets like ladoos grows on trees & toffees are nurtured in farms….)
It’s a cute song, makes u wonder abt things like if fishes start flying in air & so on….
But I was thinking how different the world will be if its painted like that, probably I won’t like if its mono-chromatic.

Have you thot which color u want to paint the world in? ;-)

It pains…

…when some close to your heart goes away.

Yesterday night I was sitting in Neha’s room. She was upset as her best friend who was working here for last two years, has gone. She has gone to do her PG from Pune. Neha was upset & I was trying to make her feel relaxed.

She asked me-“Why do people close to us leave & go?”
For this even I didn’t knew the answer and it is a question even I have asked many times from myself when someone close to my heart departs.

I just said to her, “She has gone for a good reason so you should feel happy about this.”
I understand her feeling, and only thing I can do is to give her company so that her mind is diverted.
I kept talking to her for long. When I returned to my room, I was feeling disturbed & just slept off.

I don’t want to write more today. I want an answer to this insistent question.

My Challenges...

...and my pay.

Dilbert : I am grossly underpaid. I want a raise.
Boss: Oh, Dilbert, Dibert, Dilbert.
Dilbert: What? What? What?
Boss: People don't work here for the Money. They work here for challenges.
Dilbert: If challenges are more valuable than money, then why don't you take my money & I'll give you my challenges?

(There was a dilbert comicstrip image here, which I am putting it down after looking at the weird arrangement in the Mozilla browser. :-( )

I LOVE Dilbert & his quote-unquote :-) official jokes.
Wait for the sequel. In the mean time nice quote for your PM, if he/she says you shud enjoy the challenges involved in the job, just say:
"Give me your pay, I will let you enjoy my challenges" ;-)

I opened my eyes....

..found something around is different.
I was sleeping to glory, it was around 9am. Don't be jealous. Its weekend & its my right to get up late on saturday morning. I got up with a message on my cellphone. The message was from citibank. Your citibank account has been credited .blah..blah...blah...

So let me tell you abt a typical Saturday. In the morning I called up my parents. After that brushed, cleaned the room & washed clothes...hmm..thot I'm tired now....& hungry too...I need breakfast....I am hungry...

It was around 11am in the morning...So, took bath, carried laptop & came to insti. Then went to the canteen. Had a cool mango shake & bread toast. Felt, Ya, now i have energy. Checked mails.Rest was a boring afternoon with lunch, sleep & no special events.

Good part of the day was Kamyaa got cellphone & simcard today, it will get activated tomrw. I'm happy, now i won't have problem in messaging her.

She is at present watching a tamil movie 'Sachin' & along with multitasking. You didn't get it? Don't tell me. I mean she is chatting & watching movie. We(Me & Pradeep) are nicely pulling her leg. Trying to catch her attention.
Suddenly a frog has entered the lab, its brown in color & very small. Kamyaa has a great thot, she says if this frog develops his family, then there will be lots of frogs in the insti.
I know the post has gone awry. But you can't understand the fun we are having.
